Do we have to be Catholic to attend St Joseph’s Primary School?
You do not need to be Catholic to attend St Joseph’s. While St Joseph’s is a Catholic school, our community is open to all backgrounds and communities. We have many non-catholic families at our school and have a modern and inclusive approach to our religious education.
Does my child have to participate in the Sacraments?
All students are involved in learning about the sacrament however the decision to take part in receiving the sacrament is a family choice.

Is there out-of-hours school care?
Yes, before and after school care is provided in our hall by MACSEYE. It runs from 7:00 AM until 8: 30 AM before school and 3:30 PM until 6:00 PM after school.
Do we need to live in the Brunswick West parish zone to attend St Joseph’s?
No, while Catholic families in the Brunswick West Parish boundary receive priority at enrolment, all families outside of the parish are eligible and encouraged to apply.
Are there science and STEM programs at your school?
STEM is a core part of our curriculum from Prep to Year 6. Topics include The Human Body, Plants and Animals, Astronomy, Climate and sustainability. Students engage in hands-on projects like app development, computer game design, and building Rube Goldberg Machines. Technology is seamlessly integrated and supported by Chromebooks, iPads, and a 1-to-1 laptop program for Years 3-6 and a 3D printer, fostering creativity and innovation.
